What Is Mega Auction?

What Is Mega Auction?

The IPL Mega Auction 2022 promises to be the largest auction in Indian Premier League history.

For the first time in over a decade, ten teams are bidding on the players going under the hammer.

In general, a team can keep 3-5 players before the IPL Mega Auction. The number has changed several times.

In 2011 there were 4, in 2014 there were 5, but in 2018 only 3 players were allowed to be kept. Rajkotupdates.news: IPL 2022 Mega Auction 1214 Players.

If two teams are tied and exhaust their entire pool by attempting to bid on a player, they can place a final bid amount and the highest bidder keeps the player.

The additional amount offer must be deposited with BCCI and is not part of the pool of INR 90 cr. The process can be repeated until there is a clear winner.
