MacBook Overview
MacBook is a brand of portable Macintosh computer developed and marketed by Apple Inc., using Apple’s macOS operating system since 2006.
Also, it replaced the PowerBook and iBook brands during the transition from Macs to Intel processors announced in 2005.
Therefore, the current product range consists of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro.
Initially housed in similar designs to the previous iBook and PowerBook lines.
Also, the MacBook family now utilizes an aluminium unibody construction first introduced with the MacBook Air.
Therefore, this new build also has a black plastic keyboard first used on the MacBook Air.
Also, it is inspired by the underwater keyboard found on the original polycarbonate MacBooks.
However, the now standardized keyboard brings consistency to the MacBook line, with black keys on a metallic aluminium body.
Therefore, MacBook family covers are closed by a magnet with no mechanical latch, a design element first introduced with the polycarbonate MacBook.
Storage, drives, and batteries were available in the previous MacBook line, although the latest compact line solders or glues all of these components in place.
All current MacBooks have backlit keyboards.
